AI Causes Decreased Brain Function

In an era of ever-evolving advanced technology, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a daily companion for many people. From helping to write emails, design presentations, to providing movie recommendations or the fastest route to a destination, the presence of AI really makes life more practical. However, this convenience also raises a serious question: are we starting to lose our sharpness of thought because we rely too much on machines?

Over-reliance on AI can cause the human brain to become less active. Tasks such as writing, analyzing, or solving problems that used to require deep thinking are now simply left to a single click. As a result, the brain’s ability to imagine, reason, and remember information naturally can decline. The creative process that should involve exploring ideas is also cut short because AI easily presents results in seconds.

The long-term effects of this dependency are not to be underestimated. Memory loss, decreased ability to focus, and loss of the drive to think critically are some of the real consequences. Without realizing it, we are allowing our brains to become passive and under-exercised, much like a muscle that is never used.

But AI is not the enemy. It is a powerful tool if used wisely. The key is to make AI a thinking partner, not a replacement. We still need to exercise our brains through mentally stimulating activities: discussions, writing, reading without assistance, or simply putting ideas together by hand. By maintaining this balance, we can remain both intelligent and efficient in the increasingly rapid digital age.
