Technopreneurship: Technology Business and Facing Global Competition!

Pontianak, September 26, 2023 — The Informatics Systems Department of Tanjungpura University successfully held a public lecture entitled “Technology Entrepreneurship: Technology Business and Facing Global Competition!” The event aimed to equip IT students with new insights: that their future lies not only as technology creators, but also as business actors capable of distributing digital solutions to the wider community. Held in E-Learning Rooms 3 & 4 of the Conference Building, the event was also open to online participants via Zoom, expanding the reach of inspiration across the country.

The lecture featured two keynote speakers: Renny Puspita Sari, S.T., M.T., Head of the Information Systems Department, and Lusius Aditya, S.S., M.Ikom, Sales Director of Wahana Piranti Teknologi and a central figure in the national IT solutions distribution ecosystem. In an interactive and energetic session, Lusius encouraged students to view technology not just as a product, but as a business opportunity that can address the real needs of society and industry.

Wahana Piranti Teknologi: Promoting Digital Independence for the Nation

Lusius Aditya emphasized the important role of IT distributors in Indonesia’s digital ecosystem. He shared Wahana Piranti Teknologi’s experience as a company that not only sells solutions but also builds trust and educates the public about digital security, networking, and technological sustainability. “We don’t just distribute devices, we distribute trust,” Lusius said, touching on the spirit of technopreneurship rooted in social values ​​and utility.

In a question-and-answer session, Lusius also explained how Wahana actively supports campuses and communities through digital literacy programs, cybersecurity training, and strategic partnerships that open technology access to previously unreached areas. Students were encouraged to think not only as technology users but also as solution drivers who can address global challenges with a local approach.

This public lecture marks the starting point for a shift in the mindset of IT students: from system creators to technology entrepreneurs who understand the market, build networks, and create value. With the support of industry figures like Lusius Aditya and institutions like Wahana Piranti Teknologi, the hope of emerging young Indonesian technopreneurs is becoming increasingly real, those who are not only technically proficient but also business- and socially resilient.
